To set up Residential Service please call our office at (503) 625-6177.
Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.

We offer four sizes of totes for your garbage service.

  • 20-gallon: holds approximately 1 small garbage bag
  • 32-gallon: holds approximately 2-3 small garbage bags or 1 large garbage bag
  • 60-gallon: holds approximately 2 large garbage bags
  • 90-gallon: holds approximately 3 large garbage bags
All materials need to be curbside by 6 am on your pick up day. Leave space between your carts (see picture below), automated arms on trucks need room to operate. Make sure the lid opening of the cart faces the street (check arrows on top of the lid). Make sure no parked vehicles, mailboxes, basketball hoops, shrubs or trees are blocking safe access to carts (use 18 feet to each side of the cart as a rule of thumb).
On Call Customers: You must notify our office the day before their pick up day and before 12:00 noon to schedule a pick up. If we do not receive the call before that time, your pick up will be scheduled for the following week. If you are a Monday On Call customer, we need to receive the call before 12 noon on the Friday before the pick up you would like to receive.
Extra Charges: To avoid any extra charges the lids on your carts must be closed and everything must be inside the cart. Do not place anything next to your carts that you do not want taken.
Service Concerns/Problems: If you have any concerns or problems with your service such as your pick up is missed or your cart doesn't empty completely, please call us immediately.

Recycling

Your recycling program is determined by the municipality you live in. Please refer to the correct information depending on what receptacle you have for your co-mingle recycling.
Blue Lid Cart: If you have a Blue Lid recycling cart, please click here for a detailed description of how to properly recycle using your Blue Lid cart.
Red Bins: If you have Red Bins for your recycling and do not have a Blue Lid recycling cart, please click here for a detailed description of how to properly recycle using your Red Bins.
The following is a list of items that are NOT accepted in any of the recycling receptacles. If the driver sees any contamination in your recycling, the recycling will be marked as contaminated and will not be picked up. (Please note that this is a list of common mistakes but does not include all non-acceptable items).
  • Styrofoam / Packing Peanuts (should be bagged and placed in your garbage)
  • Plastic Bags (do not bag recyclables)
  • Bubble wrap / Shrink wrap
  • Tissue Paper / Paper Towels
  • Food contaminated items (such as pizza boxes)
  • Blueprints, computer disks, photographs
  • Garbage
Recycling Depot: Please keep in mind that there are certain items that we may not accept curbside but you can bring them to our Recycling Depot and recycle them. Please click here for information on what is accepted at the Recycling Depot.
Bulky Items We have a separate driver that can pick up items curbside that are too large to fit inside your garbage cart such as a mattress, couch, recliner, TV, refrigerator, washing machine, water heater, old doors, carpet rolls, etc. There is a charge for each item. The pick up would occur on the same day that your garbage is picked up but the office needs to be notified in order to schedule it. If you are unable to get the item to the curb, please call our office as we may be able to pick up the item from inside your home.
Bag Your Garbage! It's important that all items put in your garbage cart be placed inside a bag. Un-bagged garbage can get stuck in your garbage cart and may prevent it from emptying completely. It can also get caught by the wind and cause a mess in your neighborhood. Please be kind to your neighbors and be sure to bag your garbage.
Changes in Service: Please call our office in advance for any changes in service. When you move, please make arrangements for your last date of service. We need to collect all of your carts and red bins when you stop your service and if we don't retrieve them, your account will be charged for the cost of that item.
Temporary Stop: You are able to put a temporary stop or vacation hold on your service at any time. You need to notify the office before it occurs in order to receive credit. You may be given credit for a temporary stop up to four times per year.
Yard Debris: This is debris that "grows" in your yard. Yard debris includes leaves, weeds, grass clippings, and small branches and prunings no greater than 4" in diameter and 36" in length. Do not use plastic bags as they will damage the equipment and they do not compost. Earth bags can be used and can be purchased at Home Depot, Fred Meyer or K-Mart.

Hazardous Materials: These items should never be placed out for collection with your other materials. Some examples of hazardous materials include wet paint, chemicals, medical waste, and used sharps (needles, lancets, syringes). To properly dispose of hazardous materials please contact Metro's Recycling Hotline at (503) 234-3000. To dispose of used sharps, you can also contact your local pharmacy for information or call Bio-Med of Oregon at (800) 622-1378.
Weather Conditions: Weather conditions can sometimes affect our service. Please click here for more information.

Holidays: Your pick up may be affected by holidays, please click here for more information on which holidays will affect your pick up.
